This year’s William Hill World Darts Championship brings you a lot of surprises. With young rising talents joining, Barnie Retiring, Rob Cross early elimination and a bunch of other unexpected stories, what a great show that these players have given up on to the stage.
But nothing is more shocking than the queen Fallon Sherrock, the first woman to ever win against a man on a World Stage. Beating Ted Evetts on the first round followed by Mensur “The Gentle” Suljovic on the second round to proceed to the third round.
As much as we wanted to witness Ms. Sherrock to advance further, the story comes to an end with Chris Dobey to beat her on the third round. Although the defeat, Fallon manage to pressure Chris Dobey with a 3-2 score. Overall, it was a good fight and it really shows that this sport doesn’t belong to just men.
Prior to the game, Chris Dobey did mention that he never held back. “This girl can play and I needed to be at my best.” Said Dobey.
The tale might have ended for Sherrock, but we believe more stories to come on next year PDC World Dart Championship.
